Robin May's Art Lectures

The following lectures have been provided through the generosity of Robin May, who has lived at Freedom Village since 2009. She has two degrees in art history from Hofstra University in New York, where she graduated Cum Laude. She lectured for many years on Long Island, and conducted art trips to museums. After moving to Pennsylvania, she taught for the Chester County Adult Night School, and for a time, she presented lectures at Freedom Village. Her favorite topics are the theme lectures that combine art and history.

Sadly, Robin passed away on March 27, 2021. She will be missed, but her legacy in the form of these lectures remains with us. Currently, all of her 13 lectures have been posted, and are now being rerun.

Robin's lectures will be presented in a series, with a new lecture replacing the previous one each month. She is solely responsible for the accuracy of the content.

Each lecture is presented as a sequence of individual images, each with its own description below it. Each slide (image plus description) is presented for about 35 seconds before being replaced by the next one, provided that your cursor is positioned at either edge of the screen. If you move your cursor into the image, left and right arrows (< / >) and a play/pause icon (Play Button Png Image - Instagram Transparent PNG - 1200x630 .../ Png File Svg - Pause Button Png | Transparent PNG Download #60010 ...) will appear. You can step forward to the next slide, or step back to the previous slide by using the arrows. You can stop the progression of slides by clicking on the pause (Png File Svg - Pause Button Png | Transparent PNG Download #60010 ...) button, and continue it by clicking on the play (Play Button Png Image - Instagram Transparent PNG - 1200x630 ...) button, but you must move the cursor to either edge of the screen for the presentation to continue. Also, when the cursor is within the image, little numbered circles appear overlaying the top of the image. Each circle represents a slide, and this allows you to immediately jump to any particular slide. Moving the cursor to the edge of the screen causes the numbered circles to disappear.

This month's theme is Frames (rerun)
